This half-day, interactive workshop is designed to equip General Ophthalmologists with practical, up-to-date knowledge and tools to enhance the early recognition and multidisciplinary management of Thyroid Eye Disease (TED). Through a mix of expert-led plenaries, engaging case discussions, panel dialogues, and small-group workshops, participants will gain clinical insights into TED pathogenesis, treatment evolution, surgical timing, and coordinated care pathways. The program includes international and local expert perspective and real-world examples to enhance confidence in diagnosis, referral, and co-management of TED across clinical settings. Attendees will also engage with tools to support care.

The workshop will be approved for RANZCO CPD hours.

This workshop is organised and sponsored by Amgen.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Recognise the clinical signs of early and moderate-to-severe TED
  • Describe the evolving treatment landscape for TED, surgical timing, and co-management strategies
  • Apply clinical reasoning to TED referral decisions, understanding what information to include and when to refer to oculoplastics or endocrinology
  • Identify tools and models that support multidisciplinary care, including practical enablers for diagnosis, referral, and patient support
  • Evaluate how current practice may evolve in anticipation of new therapies, to support earlier intervention, better patient outcomes, and team-based care delivery
